With a few of the big players moving to their own engines though I'm not sure how much I believe in the future of NKS compatibility out of the box anyway. The idea is this stuff just works out of the box, and the sample library makers set all of that up. I may look into creating my own light sets so I don't have to use KK software, but it kind of defeats the purpose a bit. I have MacOS Monterey, latest Logic Pro and latest firmware. It's not like I'm running super old system. I think maybe I am cursed with this product but I always do a search and find others with the exact same issues. I've simply lost faith in their team at this point. Support told me I should either buy Kontakt 7 full or bounce all of my tracks before closing the project. Any tracks using Kontakt 7 player libraries, upon reopening the saved Logic project the loaded instrument and all customizations made to the patch are completely lost, and it loads an empty Kontakt 7 window! Losing data like that was unbelievable to me. There's a checkbox to not always try to use the latest Kontakt version, and that does solve the issue but introduces one of the nastiest bugs. KK software tries to use Kontakt 7 player for all libraries, even the ones that require the full version, so those libraries load in trial mode. We've been notified and are looking into it. But the KK software I think crashes Logic sometimes, loses the connection a lot and just a bunch of small stuff.Īnother example is I have Kontakt 7 player and Kontakt 6 full. I bought a bunch of libraries that are NKS compatible and the premise is good. I find myself just preferring to use Kontakt instead of the Komplete Kontrol software.
